Hon. Aminu Suleiman
Hon. Aminu Suleiman is an accomplished businessman, a great and renown Nigerian politician of international repute who hails from Northern part of Nigeria, a seasoned leader, a philanthrophist, a grass-root mobilizer, an active and founding member of the All Progressive congress (APC) and one of the closest allies and a die-hard supporter of His Excellency, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos State and Current President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. His main interest generally in life and particularly in politics is to coordinate people and resources toward optimal performance and to do so across inter/intra ethnic and religious divides thereby guaranteeing the sustenance of unity, peace and progress. As an agent of change, he believes in Corruption Free Practices, transparency, accountability, dedication, honestly and good value for every kobo spent taking into consideration the scarce resources with highly competitive interests.
EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Hon Aminu Suleiman was born to the family of Alhaji Suleiman, a successful Businessman, a philanthrophist and a respected community Leader of Shiyyar Sarakuna, Birnin Kebbi in Kebbi State, a North Western state of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the 29th day of June, 1970.
He obtained a Primary Certificate from the historic Palace Primary School, Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State in the year 1984. Between 1984 and 1990 he went and obtained his Secondary School Certificate from the then Government Secondary School, Zaria. Having finished with a good result, the young Aminu was successfully enrolled and obtained a National diploma in Quantity Surveying at the prestigious Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna State between the year 1991 and 1993. He immediately joined the same school and obtained a Higher National Diploma in the same Quantity Surveying. After a meritorious National Compulsory Service, the young Aminu was awarded a National Youth Service Corp Discharge Certificate in the year 1997.
During his years of education, the young Aminu received several prizes and gift for exceptional performance in both academic and extra-curricular activities. He also attended numerous conferences, seminars and lectures within and outside Nigeria including but not limited to Yearly International Trade Fair Observer in Geneva from 2000 to 2004, International Conference on Leadership in Geneva in 2005, International Trade Fair in Hamburg, Germany in 2007, The Emir of Kano, Late Alhaji (Dr) Ado Bayero’s Leadership Lectures in 2011 at Central Mosque Abuja, and Business Round Table Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the United States of America Between 2014 and 2015.
WORKING CAREER
Hon. Aminu Suleiman started his working career was in Oil and Gas as a senior administrative manager for Bulasawa Petroleum Company Limited.
The position he held since the year 1993 up to 1996. He was however promoted to the General Manager of the company in 1996 and remain so until 1999. During his service as general manager, he was able, among many other achievements, to initiate and found Bulasawa petroleum station at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.
He is at present the chairman and CEO of AMS Investment and Global Services Nigeria Limited dealing in Exports and imports of all forms of construction materials as well as engage in agency service and provide business consultancy especially in Oil and Gas sector and has a Head office at Plot 1568 Muhammadu Buhari Way Mansad Building B. beside old CBN Area 11 Garki Abuja. Hon. Aminu Suleiman was recently appointed the Chairman, Governing Council of Federal College of Education Technical Keana and Member, Governing Board of Northwest Development Commission by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.
POLITICAL PARTICIPATION
Hon Aminu Suleiman’s political journey started as far back as 1989 when he joined the defunct Alliance for Democracy (AD). He served as the Liason Officer and grass-root mobilizer of Hausa Community in Lagos, Lagos State for the Party from 1989 to 1999.
Having formed a government in 1999, his contributions was acknowledged and appointed as the Liaison Officer on political Gains between Hausa Community in Lagos and Lagos State Government. He held that position until 2001. Hon Aminu Suleiman was made the strategic officer/coordinator for the Alliance for Democracy between Northern Resident in Lagos and Yoruba and held that position between 2001 and 2003. In the year 2003 he was promoted to become a senior Strategic mobilizer for the Alliance for Democracy in Lagos State. Between 2005 and 2007 Hon. Aminu was the Campaign Committee Member (CCM) of Action Congress in Lagos. He rose to become a zonal mobilizer / strategist for the same Action Congress in the south west and was so between 2007 and 2009.
He was also a zonal coordinator of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). He served as a national strategist/coordinator towards the formation of the All Progressive Congress (APC) 2011-2015. During the 2015 general election he was a mobilizer for the All Progressive Congress (APC). He was also appointed as the Director contact and mobilization. Hon. Aminu Suleiman was an aspirant under the platform of the All Progressive Congress for House of Representative for his constituency, Birnin Kebbi, Kalgo Bunza Federal Federal Constituency. He was the first person that publicly declared and advocated support for the 2023 presidency of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.
He is the sole founder and sponsor of the Vibrant political group, the Tinubu Support Orgsnization with the aim of lobbying with His Excellency, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu to run for the office of the President of the federal republic of Nigeria. Hon. Aminu was the first person to have initiated such a political crusade for his long-term boss.
Since he remained consistent and the organization have chapters in all the 36 states of the federation as well as in FCT with additional branches in diaspora. Because of his stewardship and style of leadership many Associations that came up after his own with similar objectives have since abandoned their own and melted into the Aminu’s Tinubu Support Organization. Under his able leadership, the organization contributed immensely to the emergence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and Kashim Shettima GCON as the President and Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria respectively.
PERSONAL LIFE.
Hon. Aminu Suleiman married to Hajiya Fatima and the marriage has already been blessed with 7 beautiful kids , Murjanatu, Al’amin, Muhammadu Buhari, Zeenat, Maryam, Mustapha and Assil. He likes reading and travelling and has so far visited many countries.
AWARDS AND HONOURS
As the saying goes Honour is given to whom it is due, Hon. Aminu Suleiman is not an exception. He is a recipient of many awards and honours from within and outside Nigeria. For example He was chosen as the Outstanding Director General of the Year at the Soul to Soul, All White Nite Out in 2020 and Bola Ahmed Tinubu Mentorship Ambassador at the 2nd Bola Ahmed Tinubu Mentorship Conference in 2020.
He was also given a traditional titles of Jaban Gwandu by the Emir of Gwandu, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Muhmmadu Iliyasu Bashar and recently the Otumba Otun Ekiti by His Royal Majesty Oba Adekunle Adeayo adeagbo ( Okinboloye II), The Oore of Otun Ekiti and Paramount Ruler of Mobaland.
